GEMS teachers and administrators have put together a series of hands-on events that offer a deep dive into aspects of the Primary Years Program, the International Baccalaureate framework that serves our students in preschool through grade 5.

All events start at 6 p.m. The series runs as follows:
Oct. 23, 2018 - IB/PYP 101: How Does Learning Happen
-Presenters will reference the first unit of inquiry of the school year
-How learning has changed through the past two decades & why
-Concrete examples/activities re: how learning happens at GEMS
Jan. 29, 2019 - IB/PYP 200: Formal & Informal Assessment in the IB
Presenters will highlight concrete examples of techniques we use
April 2, 2019 - IB/PYP 300: Extended Learning & Taking Action.
What does an IB learner do over time and at home?
Project-based and hands-on learning throughout the IB journey, and beyond
We invite all Lower School parents to attend! Childcare is provided.
